Class Note 2007
Jan - Feb 2011
Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone who wrote in over this past year to send me your updates. For those of you who happened to be on gchat, Facebook or text while I was frantically trying to draft the notes before they were due, I apologize for hounding you, but I appreciate your enthusiasm! Here are the latest updates:
Luke Antal moved to N.Y.C. quite abruptly in mid-October after Urban Escapes (where he works with Maia Josebachvili ’05, Adam Platz ’08 and Dan Josebachvili ’09) was acquired by daily deal giant LivingSocial. Luke and the rest of the full-time Urban Escapes team are helping to launch the company’s new travel and trips division. Be on the lookout over the next year as they expand and bring awesome trips to more cities across the country! Urban Escapes was founded and based on freshman trips!
After a long summer spent traveling around the country sailing and learning to surf Esther Perman finally started work in San Francisco. She is working for a biofuels startup company and is really excited about it, even if it means less time spent posting pictures to Facebook to make her friends jealous.
Caitlin Wong also just moved to San Francisco. She is excited that she is a whole continent closer to Hawaii!
In May Andy Garrett, Alex Garrison and Christine Mandell graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Mikey Sinnott starred in Family Feud late this summer, and he and his family were on several episodes. They must have done well!
Ben Selznick married a lovely woman named Sarah Weissman. The ceremony was at the Dutchess Manor in Beacon, New York, on September 4, 2010. From the Dartmouth crowd, Ariel Eckstein was a groomsmen, and Rashid Galadanci, Christina Douglas, Billy Accomando and Richard Allenby all attended. It was a wonderful event. CongratulatioNate Pinsley left his job at McKinsey and joined a social entrepreneurship incubator called Purpose. He just launched a social movement supporting electric cars at www.helloelectric.org. Check it out!
Vaughn Booker completed his master of divinity at Harvard this past spring and he is beginning his Ph.D. in religion at Princeton University this fall.
Finally, I have some great ’07 class news. At the annual Class Officers Weekend that was held this fall in Hanover, we had a strong showing from many of our class representatives. Luke Antal was awarded Class President of the Year for all classes 25 years out and younger. All of our DCF volunteers were collectively awarded the College Fund Committee Award for the best all-around young alumni achievement and the Class of 1926 Award for special distinction through participation. I’m sure we can agree that our June phone-a-thon was a huge success and we encourage everyone in the class to return to Hanover this coming June for the second annual phone-a-thon event. I’m sure we’ll continue to do great things!
Cheers.
