Class Note 1980
Issue
March-April 2022
As I have written this column through the years, I have debated whether it should be timeless or not. In this moment, I am stuck in time, specifically, that odd week between Christmas and the new year. The Omicron variant has renewed uncertainty about public events and public health. Do you lack all conviction or are you full of passionate intensity? Who is to say which is best or worst?
Meanwhile, unstuck Brent and Cami Bilger are loopers. The Great Loop is a continuous waterway that includes part of the Atlantic, Gulf Intracoastal Waterways, the Great Lakes, Canadian Heritage Canals, and the inland rivers of America’s heartland. In January Brent and Cami will sail out of northern Germany, down to the tropics, and across the Atlantic.
Dana Cetlin, a busy real estate attorney in Natick, Massachusetts, is grateful that property is moving, with one daughter in business school at MIT and another in medical school at Northwestern.
In mid-2021 Dr. Jacqueline Brown Gettys became medical director of Capital Health’s post-acute care program. She helps patients move from one level of care to another. Said Dr. Gettys, “I’m excited to lead the new program that aims to improve communication and coordination of care as patients transition out of the hospital so we can achieve the best possible outcomes when they get to their next level of care. While seniors are the most common patient population to be served by the program, our services are available to any patient who receives care at Capital Health.” Capital Health is based in Trenton, New Jersey.
Matt Cairone is a litigator at the Philadelphia office of Fishkin Lucks. Matt represents large industrial entities in toxic tort matters, but his two grandchildren are what make his heart beat faster.
Another lawyer, Steve Camerino is the CEO of law firm McLane Middleton in Manchester, New Hampshire. When not herding cats, Steve likes to hike, ski, and visit New York City with his wife, Sarah, also a lawyer.
Richard Braverman is a retired pediatric radiologist in Houston trying to decide what comes next.
Bob Berlinger has retired from the television industry. He describes himself as comfortably divorced for 20 years. Bob’s son, a journalist, is to be married this January to a French woman he met in Hong Kong. Bob’s daughter, Michelle, is a member of the class of ’13 and the owner of her own jewelry design company. Just as Bob hung out at the Hop doing theater, Michelle made the jewelry studio there her home.
Joyce Booth is an immigration lawyer in Stockbridge, Georgia. Her practice focuses on family-based immigration, temporary protected status, and detention and removal cases.
One final bit of lawyer news: Meg LePage has been inducted into the American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Fellows are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement, and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility. How else to describe Meg?
