Catie Griggs ’03, Tu’09
Out of the Park
As the Seattle Mariners president of business operations, Griggs is one of the highest-ranking female team executives in Major League Baseball. Ahead of the 2024 baseball season, Marketing Brew takes a look at her career path: “through a combination of patience, hundreds of interviews, and learning to wait for just the right pitch, Griggs eventually worked her way through sports agencies and media companies to the team side.”

Quiet on Set
More than 16 million viewers have watched the Investigative Discovery documentary series Quiet on Set on Max since it premiered on March 18, according to the network. Featuring interviews with former Nickelodeon network stars including Drake Bell, the series unpacks a "toxic" and "traumatizing" work environment on the set of multiple popular shows created by Dan Schneider.

Mal Wrenn Corbin ’96
Difficult History
WBZ News, a Boston affiliate of CBS News, interviewed Wrenn Corbin about her debut book, Raising Wrenns: A Memoir, which was published this January. Wrenn Corbin grew up in Worcester in the 80s and 90s.
“At that time in this particular neighborhood, Worcester was really plagued by poverty, homelessness, addiction issues, and violence,” she said.
Wrenn Corbin had lived in 15 different homes before she was 15 years of age. Her father was killed in a shooting and her brother died by suicide.

Chicago Calling
Schriffen is the Chicago White Sox’s new television play-by-play announcer. “The timing is right for me because I have done so many things in the course of my career in broadcasting, and the next step for me is to join a team, get to know the team better, and really join a community and move to Chicago,” he says. The former history major has been a professional sports broadcaster for more than a decade.
